Styne House: Exterior

Styne House

Refurbishment of ACC House Hatch Street Dublin

1998-2000 / £11m / 7,635 m2 / Green Property Plc

A.C.C. House was a 25 year old office building in need of total modernisation. The project involved the complete stripping out and refurbishment of the existing office areas and cores and recladding of the building.

A new curved 3 storey extension along Hatch Street between A.C.C. House and the corner of Harcourt Street was formed as a transition between the larger existing building and Harcourt street.

The existing building was effectively extended out onto Hatch Street with a new structure built in front of the old facade.

A remodelled entrance area incorporated a new atrium. The service areas were relocated from roof level to basement level to free up the top floor for offices and provision of additional office space was made at fourth and fifth floor level.

The total floor area (excluding plant) is approximately 7,635m2. Gilroy McMahon won Opus Building of the year Award 2000 for this project.

Our aim has been to transform a dull office building into an elegant piece of urbanism.
