Des McMahon is the Senior Director in one of Irelands leading architectural
practices, Gilroy McMahon who have designed a widely diverse range of
important Irish buildings over the last two decades. Des McMahon’s
portfolio of work includes the new stadium at Croke Park (RIAI Gold Medal),
the conversion of Collins Barracks for the National Museum of Ireland
(Gulbenkian Museum award and RIAI Triennial silver medal for conservation),
Glor Theatre for Irish Traditional and International Folk Music in Ennis
and the Hugh Lane Gallery in Parnell Square. Des McMahon is a past Vice
President of the Royal Institute of Architects of Ireland and is an RIAI
council member.
