Santry Avenue, BallymunProject Cost: €7m.As part of the Masterplan for the New Ballymun, the Coultry 2A development at Santry Ave. Ballymun, is the first scheme prepared by Gilroy McMahon for Ballymun Regeneration Limited. The project was undertaken with intense consultation with resident groups and key stakeholders to ensure the scheme successfully reflected the requirements of the end users and Ballymun Regeneration Limited. The development consists of 12 houses and 18 apartments in 3 apartment blocks. The 106m2 houses contain 3 bedrooms plus study. The 2 and 3 bedroom apartments range in size from 58m2 to 83m2. An innovative design process was undertaken incorporating the Lifetime Homes, design guidelines to make residences suitable for a range of people during different stages of their lives, including couples, young families and the elderly. The houses and ground floor apartments are easily accessible for wheelchair users. Occupants personal style preferences were addressed by offering a selection
of choices for floor coverings, paint colours and kitchens enabling them
to tailor their new homes to their lifestyles. |
